Microsoft details community games at Gamefest 08

Microsoft today announced a few more little tidbits about their upcoming community titles at their indy-game focused Gamefest event. Firstly, going against what was previously thought by the ever-hungry Live community, most of the games will come at a charge. This is the danger with people making things these days, they just don't do it for free.

The point range for the games will be from 200 to 800 spacebucks, or $2.50 to $10 for those who like normal money, a fair amount for these small games. Microsoft is also being ever so kind to the small developers it wants to support, offering them up to 70% of the game's total revenue. However, prepare to moan as these titles will not support achievements, at least at the time of the service's launch, which is still a rather sketchy "Fall 2008". We suspect it will come along with the new dashboard update, so they can get the new infrastructure integrated as easily as possible.
