Halo 3: Wintertime in Valhalla

On the gaming discussion forum NeoGAF, we found some interesting pictures that displayed a snowy scene on the Halo 3 map of Valhalla. The map is said to have been created with an Xbox 360 Dev kit and has caused quite a stir in the response of the gamers that sparked wonder of how interesting it would be if they released this map or a similar fine-tuned map during the Winter time. I wouldn't mind since Bungie needs to do a little something if they want to deal some sort of blow to their biggest competitor, not naming any names...
Bungie worker 'Shishka' stopped in and dropped a comment on the map saying:
...Anyway. Snow Valhalla is sorta pretty, but I'd take Avalanche over it any day. It sounds nitpicky, but I've never been a big fan of the map mods people do where they swap materials to try to make a map look different. They've been doing it since Halo 1 and it's not ever really "worked" for me. Having said that, baring some weirdness in texture seams, banding, and tiling, SnowHala seems like an experiment that turned out pretty well.
He does bring up a good point which many can agree with that map mods have never really "worked" since they have been conceived. More:
